3.  KHALIL GHANTOUS3 KDAIH (GHANTOUS ISSA2, ISSA1) died 1914 in koubayat, AAkar, Lebanon.  He married MYRIAM DAHER, daughter of DAHER.

 

Notes for KHALIL GHANTOUS KDAIH:

According to the priest: His job was to collect taxes. The story says that he died when collecting taxes in an unknown place in Akkar during the 1914 war. Him and his brother were neighbors in the Koubayat, Ghoaya.

 

According to Souad: Khalil Ghantous died after coming from work in front of his house

 

 

Notes for MYRIAM DAHER:

Origin from the old Dawrat Akkar.

According to Souad: She died from high temperature when Youssef was 8 years old. After playing he comes home because his sisters were working in the silk factory.

Notes for RAHMEH GHANTOUS KDAIH:

She inherited part of the garden in the Koubayat haret al dahr. Her inheritance built on it a house beside the old house of their grand parents. At a later date, Michel Bechara bought the rest of the land and the house from the Ghantous family and destroyed the old hose making it an entrance to his new house.

7.  YOUSSEF4 GHANTOUS (KHALIL GHANTOUS3 KDAIH, GHANTOUS ISSA2, ISSA1) was born 1903 in Koubayat, AAkar, Lebanon, and died March 30, 1963 in Mashghara, Bekaa, Lebanon.  He married ZAKIA HANNA TAMER EL-HAJJ June 10, 1928 in Aay, Bekaa, Lebanon, daughter of HANNA EL-HAJJ and SAIIDA AAZAR.

 

Notes for YOUSSEF GHANTOUS:

Religion: Maronite (Catholic)

After the death of his mother, or even his father, they were sent to Deir Jannine to be brought up by their aunt (Father's sister) at the convent.

Started in the Army as a 'Caporale with the allied forces 'Troupes Speciales du levant' in the First Battalion of snipers in Lebanon '1er Battallion de Chasseurs du Liban' Matricule No 02420 in Mardjayoun. Later he joined the Lebanese Army when Lebanon declared independence in 1943.

Died as a result of a sickness 'Blood complication (la goutte).

Notes for YOUSSEF GHANTOUS KDAIH:

Youssef left to America with his two sons 1916. The priest wrote to me indicating that Hannoud died after his departure in 1914. She was at the time of death two years old. This contradicts with his second marriage and that he baptized his Daughter in 1916. Did he leave his second wife with her daughter and his previous daughter in Lebanon? According to Nouhad, both daughters died at almost the same date.

According to Nouhad Ghantous Khayrallah. Hannoud died at the age of 27. Her father, Youssef Ghantous walked with her in Trablous at the Mediterranean sea and told him that she will take this sea to immigrate to the Americas. A week after she died before she traveled.
